Hi, I’m Elena. I am a multimedia journalist currently living and working in Boston, MA. After years working in youth education, travel, and film production I’m working to hone my storytelling skills by reporting on a local level in my community. I’ll finish my master’s degree in journalism by August of 2022. My goal is to work as a producer in a newsroom upon graduation.
As journalists, we have the responsibility to inform our audience of what is happening in our communities and on a global scale in a transparent and accessible way. We are the “gatekeepers” of information, and the media we produce will have an impact both on the general public and the individuals and communities we report on. Shedding a light on urgent issues facing those in the community from underrepresented backgrounds is imperative to representing the full community accurately.
